Recipe of Vit’s Penang Asam Laksa

The three key words that best characterise what makes a bowl of Penang Asam Laksa enjoyable are sweet, sour, and spicy. What is not to like about this classic Malaysian dish? It features a smorgasbord of slurp able white rice noodles, shredded fish usually mackerel, sliced pineapples, cucumber, onions, red chillies, lettuce, and mint leaves soaked in the tamarind-flavoured broth base.

Ingredients

  • 1 Pack Vit’s Penang Asam Laksa
  • 1 minced shallot
  • 1 minced garlic
  • Bean sprout
  • Dried tofu
  • Chicken breast
  • Fish cake
  • Shrimp
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 boiled egg
  • Cucumber
  • Chili (cut)
  • Shallot (cut)
  • Salad
  • Pineapple (cut)

Method

  1. Heat the water:
  2. Put a large pot of water on to boil. Once the water has reached the rolling boil, put the instant dry noodle.  After the noodle soften, toss the noodle.
  3. On a different pan, Sauté shallots, garlic, chicken, and shrimp until fragrant.  Put 1 cup of water and half cup of evaporate milk to have a thick texture for the soup. Wait until it boils.  After that, put the seasoning that has been provide in the instant noodle packs.
  4. Immerse the bean sprout, dried tofu, shrimp, and fish cake in a boiling water until it cooked. Toss the water.
  5. After all, done, can serve the noodle with egg, cucumber, shallot, chili, and salad to garnish it. 
  6. Enjoy your instant noodle but a little bit extra.
