Recipe of Stir Fry Udon with Vit’s Fresh Udon

Japanese cuisine includes Udon, a thick noodle produced from wheat flour. There are numerous methods to prepare and serve it. Stir-fried Udon is a delicious and popular dish that typically includes thick udon noodles, a variety of vegetables, and a savory sauce. Here's a basic recipe to make stir-fried udon using Vit's Fresh Udon

Ingredients

  • 200g udon noodles
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 carrot, julienned
  • 1 bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 100g mushrooms (such as shiitake or button mushrooms), sliced
  • 100g protein of your choice (such as chicken, beef, shrimp, or tofu), sliced or cubed
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional toppings: chopped scallions, sesame seeds, or cilantro for garnish

Method

  1. Cook the udon noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large pan or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat.
  3. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Add the sliced onion, julienned carrot, bell pepper, and mushrooms to the pan. Stir-fry for a few minutes until the vegetables are slightly tender.
  5. Push the vegetables to one side of the pan and add the protein (chicken, beef, shrimp, or tofu) to the empty space. Cook until the protein is fully cooked and lightly browned.
  6. Combine the cooked protein with the vegetables and mix everything together in the pan.
  7. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, and sesame oil.
  8. Add the cooked udon noodles to the pan with the vegetables and protein.
  9. Pour the sauce mixture over the noodles and toss everything together until well-coated. Stir-fry for a few more minutes to heat everything through.
  10. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Adjust the sauce seasoning if needed.
  11. Remove from heat and garnish with chopped scallions, sesame seeds, or cilantro if desired.
  12. Serve the stir-fried udon noodles hot and enjoy!
