
Recipe of Cantonese Fried Udon | Kung Fu Style
A comforting Cantonese-style udon dish featuring smoky pan-fried noodles topped with silky egg gravy, fresh vegetables, tender seafood, and fishcakes. This halal-friendly Kung Fu–style noodle is rich, savoury, and perfect for a satisfying homemade meal.

Ingredients
- Vit’s Udon noodles
- Carrot (sliced)
- Seafood (prawns, squid, or mixed seafood)
- Varieties of fishcake / fishballs
- Choy sum
- Garlic (minced)
- Dark soy sauce
- Light soy sauce
- Cornstarch
- Egg
- Cooking oil
- Water or stock
- Salt or seasoning to taste
Method
- Blanch udon noodles for about 1 minute to loosen them. Drain and set aside.
- Heat oil in a wok. Add udon noodles and stir-fry. Add dark soy sauce and light soy sauce, tossing until noodles are evenly coated. Remove and set aside.
- In the same wok, stir-fry garlic until fragrant. Add seafood and fishcakes. When prawns start to turn pink, add water or stock.
- Add carrot and choy sum. Let it simmer briefly until vegetables are tender.
- Mix cornstarch with water, then pour into the wok to thicken the sauce.
- Crack in an egg and give it a quick stir.
- Season with salt or preferred seasoning to taste.
- Pour the thick sauce over the prepared noodles. Serve hot and enjoy!
